With Brexit looming over and separating the country recently, Sunday (10/7) seemed to be a day that restored some unity within amongst us. Firstly Lewis Hamilton showed a huge British crowd why he is the current Formula One Champion by taking victory in the British Grand Prix. At the same time, Gordon Reid was busy winning the Wimbledon wheelchair singles title, for the second time. And there was further celebrations for the British as Andy Murray regained his Wimbledon crown. So what better way to end the day celebrating being British, than to spend the evening with a picnic at the Proms on the lawn of Tonbridge Castle. For this I owe a big thank you to Tamsin Leigh, who I am very grateful to, for inviting me to take part by recording the event. It was a beautiful evening, the weather was great, the setting was perfect, and the staff and the crowd provided a fantastic atmosphere. Tonbridge Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra sounded amazing! playing a great selection of music, whilst the crowd enjoyed the fabulous picnic hampers made by Basil's. As the evening wore on the crowd participation grew, waving a sea of union jack flags, and singing along to renditions of 'Rule Brittania' and 'Land of Hope and Glory'. It was the perfect end to a triumphant day, I can only be grateful that I was able to experience it.....

WOW! that's the only way I can describe my work at the moment. I have been so blessed to have been involved in a lot of exciting experiences recently, so I thought I would create a blog to share these with everyone. I have been a photographer for a few years now and have been involved in quite a few different projects, but the last few weeks have been fantastic. For example, and with a huge thank you to Pat Crawford Associates, last week, I had the sincere pleasure of attending the National Trust's, Chartwell Manor's 50th anniversary. It was such a beautiful place to visit and Beatrice from the National Trust fulfilled everyones expectations in arranging a very fitting event. West Kent college also done a sterling job on the cream teas for everyone. The food and drink were amazing! But for me the highlight had to be listening to Sir Winston Churchill's grandchildren speaking of their memories from their childhood with their "Grand Papa" at Chartwell Manor. How they used to play in the swimming pool and played games on the lawn as children, alongside little snippets of an insight into what Churchill was like outside of his work. |
